Bioinformatics Cluster at the Information and Telecommunication Technology Center

The Bioinformatics Cluster at ITTC was built as a 16-node dual-processor Beowulf cluster connected with 25 terrabytes of storage, constructed in 2005. The system was implemented to provide a high-performance computing environment, coupled with high-availability storage and backup solution. The system was expanded in 2006 with the addition of 64 quad-core machines and again in 2009 with 48 eight-core machines.

ITTC Development Cluster

The ITTC Development Cluster is a 16-node dual-processor Beowulf cluster connected with 3 terrabytes of storage, constructed in 2005. The system was implemented to provide a high-performance computing environment, coupled with high-availability storage and backup solution. This cluster originally operated at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. It was recommissioned in 2009 for testing new technologies and services for ITTC.
